"Kingsbarns
might well be one of the last true seaside
links sites capable of development in Scotland. Mere
words cannot convey just how extraordinary the place
is. It must be believed. And once seen it
will never be forgotten."
Sir Michael
Bonallack
Ex-Captain of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club
Honorary president of the St Andrews Pilgrim Foundation

Kingsbarns golf course, situated six miles south of the prestigious Old Course, is the youngest and most promising in Scotland. It was voted by Golf Digest as "best new international course 2000".
Nature is its framework and the sea figures prominently on every hole at Kingsbarns Golf Links. For more than half the holes the sea is directly in the golfer's active frame of play. The other holes offer majestic vistas of the sea. Its location, over an old sea cliff, creates an unusual amphitheatre effect. Its location is a tribute to the rich heritage of links golf in Scotland and, in particular with its use of the sea, the Old Course in St Andrews.
Designer Kyle Philips conceived its near flawless 7,110 yard routing. The twists and turns of Kingsbarn's holes offer gambles and mysteries for a player. Its greens, merging with the surrounding topography of humps and hollows, beckon bump-and-run shots. Pot bunkers, wind and the exhilarating sea-air scenery (holes run 75 feet above the beach) are all distractions.
Kingsbarns is a rare American-designed course in Scotland that is un American to look at. Open to the public from summer 2000, Scotland's newest links is open April through November and should not be ignored, whatever it takes to get there!
